Teacher's love

Because love should be the strength that moves us when teaching our students. And because sharing keeps us moving to reach them... Here you can find ressources I make for teaching English, mainly to children.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - sequence (1st/2nd Grade)

Kita

I've created this activity for my 1st and 2nd Grades. This activity is done after listening to the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".

You may decide if you let your students make the caterpillar on their own (and here you see if they can remember the order of the food in the story), or you can make a listening activity, where students cut the food (2nd page) and you say the day of the week and the food they should stick on the caterpillar.

In my first experience with this activity, I tried the listening activity and it was a bit confusing, because they simply didn't listen to me and almost everyone knew the sequence and wanted to glue everything even before I said anything... so, by experience, I think it's better to let them make the caterpillar on their own. If someone has questions about a day/food you can always do the listening activity.

Note: Personally I don't find some of the food the caterpillar eat on Saturday very interesting and important to teach, so I changed this food for "piece of chocolate cake, lollipop, ice-cream, piece of pie and cheese".
