Because love should be the strength that moves us when teaching our students. And because sharing keeps us moving to reach them... Here you can find ressources I make for teaching English, mainly to children.

Some flashcards I made to teach the topic "shapes". I tried to make them funny to children.

If your students already know the colours, you can also elicit them (each shape has a different colour).

I use these flashcards to introduce some classroom language. First I show the students each flashcard, say what I want them to learn with that picture (if they are already used to hear some of this language in class, I ask them what they think we could say in that situation). The students repeat the sentences as a group.

Then the students or me stick the flashcards on the classroom's walls and we play a game. I ask one student at a time to come to the front of the class and I say a sentence represented in one of the pictures we have just dealt with. The student must look for the flashcard and run to it, showing me what picture I am referring to.

The children just love this game!

On the next class, they can colour the sentences in pairs (or individually, it depends on how big is your class) and hang them next to the corresponding picture. The flashcards stay on the walls till the end of the year to remember students to use that language whenever they need it - and NOT use their mother tongue!

Most of the pictures are taken from a set of flashcards from Karen (ESLprintables). I adapted the flashcards to my needs, adding some pictures and taking out others and the sentences.

Vocabulary included (as it appears in the file):

- May I come in, please?

- See you next lesson!

- Close the door, please!

- Open the door, please!

- Sit down, please!

- Stand up, please!

- May I clean the board?

- Put your hand up!

- May I borrow a pen? or - Do you have a pen?

- Be quiet, please!

- How do you say "livro" in English? (answer: book)

- May I sharpen my pencil?
