Mailing List

Kita

Hello! {#emotions_dlg.default}

I have been asked by some of you how to subscribe to a mailing list to let you know when something new is posted here. Unfortunately, this blog platform doesn't have that option. But since I see that some of you would like to be informed when something new is posted, I've decided to make a mailing list myself.

So, I will make a list with e-mails of people who would like the information and I will personally send an e-mail to you to let you know that I posted something new.

If you would like to be on my mailing list, just leave me a comment/message with your e-mail or send me an e-mail telling me you would like to be in my mailing list. {#emotions_dlg.meeting}

Thanks a lot to all of you who always give so good feedback of my ressources. :D It's really motivating to know that this blog is useful!

Hugs,

Patrícia{#emotions_dlg.redflower}

UK and USA game

Kita

After presenting the two PowerPoints about the flags of some English Speaking Countries and some attractions in the UK and the USA, I've decided to test my students about the 2nd presentation, i.e., the attractions in the UK and the USA. So, I've made these cards.

You can use them in several ways. You can make a memory game with pictures and words, only pictures (you have to print the cards twice) or you can make a class activity in the blackboard (like I did).

I stick the UK and the USA flag on the blackboard, spread the pictures on a table and ask students, one at a time, to come to the table, choose a picture and decide whether it belongs to the USA or the UK. This is easier, mainly for younger students, because they don't have to know the name of what the picture represents (you can tell it out loud to the class). The classmates then decide if the picture is under the right picture or not.

If you want to test if they know what the picture represents, you can also ask students to stick the card with the word under the right picture.

Some English Speaking Countries - Flags

Kita

With this Power-Point Presentation you can present some English Speaking Countries to your students with the flag of each country. It includes the following countries: Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, UK, Ireland, Wales, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa.

This PowerPoint is good to explain how the flag of the UK is formed (it has a slide which explains the union of the flags) and at the end of the presentation I included a world map showing the most spoken languages of the world and the corresponding countries. With this the students can become aware of the importance of English in the world.

After showing this PowerPoint, I show this one, to show them some of the attractions in the UK and the USA.
